Open Church 2025

A church building.

All are welcome to come and visit our beautiful village church. If you haven’t been before, it’s a stunning building with interesting frescoes and memorials.

On 18th May, the church will be open from 12:30pm.* We invite guests to bring a picnic lunch to eat in the churchyard or in the church building whilst enjoying some Jazz piano from Graham Harvey, who tours regularly with Matt Bianco and Stacey Kent.

The programme looks as follows:

  • 1:00pm Jazz piano
  • 2:00pm History Talk
  • 3:00pm Teddy-Bear Parachutes (from the tower)
  • 4:00pm Close

Throughout the afternoon there will be activities for children (under parental supervision). These include:

  • a church safari (how many animals are hiding in the church building?)
  • brass rubbings and colouring sheets (art materials will be provided)
  • nature trail and games in the churchyard.

There will also be:

  • information about the history of the church building
  • opportunity to view historic church registers
  • a display about the life of St Dunstan
  • tower tours
  • delicious cream teas served.

We hope you can join us to celebrate, enjoy and explore our beautiful church building.

Attendance is free, but booking tickets will help us with catering for cream teas.
See our calendar event here to book.

* There’s a service at 11am which finishes at about 12pm with refreshments – all are welcome to join the service or to come at any time but the “Open Day” begins formally at 12:30pm.
