Edinburgh Fringe comes to Hunsdon

Lion

Every year, the Edinburgh Festival hosts all sorts of entertainment, catering for a diverse audience looking for something extraordinary, fresh and new. A few years back, Stefan Smart took his one-man show to the Festival and performed to sold-out venues. He’s been all over the country ever since and now he’s bringing it to Hunsdon – 28th March 2026.

Stefan is a professional storyteller. His performance is extraordinary – not only is this compelling artistry, it is an amazing feat of memory, as he flawlessly delivers the thousands of words of the written text. He draws audiences into the world of the story and brings those stories to life. It is fresh because he is able to revitalise even well known stories so that audiences hear them as if for the first time.

But is Stefan’s act new? Well, the story he will be telling is almost 2000 years old, so it’s a bit of a stretch to describe that as new. But to hear this story at one sitting from the lips of a professional storyteller – that’s guaranteed to be a new experience for almost everyone.

You are invited to experience Stefan’s extraordinary performance bringing fresh life to the book that most people simply call “Mark.” This is a story which was explosive in its time and still has the power to change the world. You may have heard parts of this story before. You may think you know it well. But you’ve never heard it like this.

Tickets will be on sale in the New Year – put it in your diary now:
28th March 2026, 7:30pm in Hunsdon Village Hall
