Christmas Line Dance

A selection of Stetsons.

Festive outfits and dancing shoes to the ready! Stetsons or Santa hats, anything goes!

Open House is pleased to invite you to a Christmas line dancing evening accompanied by well known Christmas songs. Our feet will be flying to tunes like Jingle Bell Rock, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.  Supper will be included with your ticket, and drinks can be purchased from a bar which will take cash or card.

We are thrilled that Michelle Barham from Monterey Liners will conduct the dancing. Harlow based Michelle teaches country line dancing in Harlow and Hoddesdon. She has performed at the Country Calling Festival as well as many local fetes and even for the WI at Waltham Abbey. Find her on Facebook – just search for “Monterey Liners.”

The evening will be suitable for all ages including children from about Year 1 upwards.  Michelle will teach a couple of dances before supper and a couple afterwards. She will bring “wall dancers” with her who help to demonstrate the moves. They are especially helpful when you are facing away from her (as a non-dancer, this seems a very useful concept!). Michelle and her wall dancers will also do a demo dance during supper.

No prior experience necessary! The only requirement is a festive accessory (if not a full festive outfit) and a willingness to get stuck in. Michelle advises that any comfortable footwear is fine but in fact trainers can be a bit sticky, and cowboy boots are actually ideal (and there was I thinking they just looked good) or any shoes with a leather sole.

So, be sure to book your ticket, polish those shoes, dust off your Christmas jumpers and get ready, as Michelle likes to say, to “get in line.” The Open House team look forward to seeing you there!
