Beating the bounds is a tradition dating back centuries which was aimed at reminding parishioners of the physical boundaries that were important in their lives. The practice involved villagers walking the parish bounds with the rector and other local dignitaries. The walk took place during Rogationtide (the fifth week after Easter).
Join us as we undertake a walk around our parish – actually not quite round its boundary, but on the public footpaths across it from east to west.
We start at the Crown Public House at 10am.
Including a stop for refreshments, the route will take between 1.5 and 2 hours and we will finish at the Crown.
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
